Cardiologist Dr. Sanjay Bhojraj has 20 years of extensive clinical experience in treating heart disease, blocked arteries and metabolic dysfunction. He found that even if he exercises regularly and can control stress, heart problems will still occur, mostly due to daily diet. For this reason, he listed nine dangerous foods and would refuse them even if he was paid to eat them.

Bhojraj witnessed with his own eyes that the following nine types of foods are extremely harmful to the human heart.

1. Sugary breakfast cereals

are advertised as good for health, but are actually mostly desserts in disguise. After eating breakfast, my blood sugar will spike and I will feel drowsy around 10 am. It can also lead to a surge in insulin, accelerated metabolism, and damage to the vascular system over time. Some patients have insulin resistance, chronic fatigue and cardiovascular complications, all related to their habit of eating this type of breakfast.

2. Processed cooked meat

is usually preserved with nitrates and nitrites, which are easily converted into carcinogens in the body, can also increase blood pressure and damage arteries in the long term.

3. Soda and energy drinks

cause blood sugar to spike, the adrenal glands to overload, and the body to flood with inflammatory substances. The "low-calorie" version is even worse. Artificial sweeteners can destroy intestinal flora, endanger metabolism and heart health, and accelerate aging.

4. Fried instant meals and carnival snacks

Fried foods like hot dogs, funnel cakes, and French fries are cooked in industrial seed oils, which oxidize at high temperatures, forming toxic byproducts that embed themselves in artery walls, causing plaque buildup and increasing the risk of high blood pressure, stroke, and heart disease.

5. White bread and refined carbohydrates

Refined carbohydrates remove the fiber, minerals and nutrients from grains, and the remaining part will become a sugar substitute in the body, which will then be rapidly decomposed, causing blood sugar to spike, leading to physical weakness, fat accumulation, insulin resistance, and an increased risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

6. Margarine and fake cream sauce

Many margarines contain trans fat, which causes an increase in low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and a decrease in high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, causing arteriosclerosis and damage to vascular endothelial cells.

7. Highly processed plant meat

is mostly ultra-processed and contains sodium, inflammatory oils, and synthetic additives such as methylcellulose and soy protein isolate.

8. High-sodium canned soup

The sodium content of a cup of canned soup may reach 80% to 100% of the daily sodium intake, which may increase blood pressure, increase the burden on the kidneys, and increase the risk of heart failure.

9. Flavored coffee creamers

are often chemical concoctions containing hydrogenated oils, artificial flavors and added sugars, which can cause inflammation and arterial plaque over time.
