Former Manchester United player Dwight Yorke was interviewed recently. He believes that Adam Walton is not the answer that Manchester United's midfielder is looking for.

York said: "I'm not sure Adam Walton is the answer. To me, he's not quite there yet and the midfield is a worrying area that we have to focus on and improve. It's a shortcoming in this Manchester United team and you look at the history of this club. In the most successful years, they always had a great number 6 in the midfield. "Casemiro was sometimes good and sometimes bad, and that's a key part of your team, and you listen to what all the great coaches say, that core area of midfield. It's always so important. It's hard to find the right player to do it, and I think that's why they struggled. They didn't get that player who could set the foundation of the game and dictate the tempo, someone who could defend but also pass the ball forward and have vision for the ball."}

"This type of player is rare, which surprises me because on the surface it is not the most difficult position to play in the world, but it is the most critical."

York jokingly said that Michael Carrick may still be able to play a role in the core position of Manchester United's midfield. He said: "Who would I rather see in that position? To be honest, I can't think of it, because there is too much hype on some players now. How about bringing Michael Carrick back? That's it, he can definitely play a role in this Manchester United!"
