In the third round of the Champions League, Tottenham drew 0-0 with Monaco. After the game, Vicario was interviewed by the media.

Vicario said: "Honestly, I think Monaco performed better than us. We need to have a better mentality when facing Champions League games, especially away from home."

"We know these games are difficult and our level is not the best, so we need to work on that. But we have a good balance and we have scored some goals in the Premier League, so we are capable of doing this. Today It's just a bad state, but we still got 1 point and we will move on from here."

"Yes, this is probably my busiest game of the season, and sometimes it is necessary. Today is my saving day, and I am happy to help the team."

In the 36-team Champions League group stage, the top eight teams can directly advance to the top 16 without participating in the play-offs in February. When asked about the importance of fighting for the top eight, Vicario said: "This is of course the best option and we will try our best. The eight teams account for less than 25% of the 36 teams, so it is a difficult task. We will try our best, but the most important thing is to stay there and fight for the Champions League."
