Several British media broke the news yesterday that Isaac applied to Newcastle for transfer and leaving the team. The Guardian confirmed that Liverpool is Isack's first choice.
It is reported that Isaac regards Liverpool as his preferred destination for transfers. He has refused to take part in the preseason with Newcastle, considering other options.
The Guardian pointed out that Isaac has always been interested in joining Liverpool, but the possibility of this transfer being realized this summer is still out of reach. Isaac and Newcastle still have a contract that expires in 2028. In addition, Liverpool needs to raise funds through sellers this summer to sign the striker, worth about £120 million.
Liverpool just signed Ekitic for £79m this week after they concluded Isaac's transfer was too far away and it is possible to prioritize the introduction of a central defender over a striker.
