Deco: Manchester City once asked Conde if he would sell it, we would not sell it.

Deco, a recent interview with World Sports, admitted that Manchester City had asked about Comte this summer.

Conde performed very well in Barcelona last season, which attracted the attention of many giants. One of them is Manchester City, and they even asked Barcelona directly about his situation. The reason why things didn't develop further is that Barcelona clearly stated that they did not want to sell him, and that Conde himself was willing to renew his contract. His original contract would expire in 2027 and would later be renewed until 2030.

Asked if Manchester City had really intended to sign Conde, Deco said: "Well, it's very subjective to signing a certain player. No, we didn't receive the offer, the only thing I know is that City is looking for a full-back, and of course they asked us if Conde is entering the transfer market. We told them 'no'."

"So, there is no offer, and there is no negotiation. Just like I know a sports director of a certain club, I'll call him to ask because we're looking for players in that position and whether you're considering or listing a certain player. As we said at the beginning, our relationship with Manchester City, with (former Manchester City director) Begiristan and now Ugo Viana is good and direct, and there is no middle ground in the conversation between us."
