British media thestar reported that Sheffield Wednesday and Manchester United continue to discuss the future of Harry Armas.
The young left-back expressed his satisfaction with the current situation. He joined on the deadline day of the summer transfer window on a season-long loan contract, which included a release clause to be considered by his parent club in January.
Armas has impressed for Sheffield Wednesday and has featured in every Championship game since his debut in September. He joined the team during the financial difficulties of S6. Due to signing restrictions, the deal could only be realized if Manchester United paid the loan fee and assumed Armas' salary. With new ownership coming, the deal may need to be restructured to allow the youngster to continue his good run.
In an interview with "The Star" at the end of last month, the England youth international outlined his goals for the loan and expressed his satisfaction with the current situation.
He said: "This is to become a better player when I go back. This is all to help the team, but doing this will also help myself. I have made a lot of progress defensively, improving every day, analyzing carefully. The loan really helped me, I feel like I have become better. I obviously played a lot of minutes, which is the most important thing. Although we did not get the results we wanted, but from From a personal perspective, I'm enjoying it here. I think we can do more and I feel there's more potential for me to fulfill. That will come with more games, getting more acclimated and making sure I continue to enjoy it."
Armas reached some career milestones during his time at Sheffield Wednesday, including scoring his first senior goal against Southampton at the weekend. Manager Henrik Pedersen was full of praise for the youngster's progress and made it clear he hopes the loan spell will last until the end of the season. Pederson said the two clubs held talks on Saturday. Abmas is as hopeful as Pederson.
"I'm not thinking too much about it right now, even though it's coming," Armas said of United's January decision. "I just want to play, a lot of things are happening at the top. We're waiting for things to be sorted out and then we'll get closer to time to deal with it. But at the moment I'm just enjoying playing here."
During the planning process for Sheffield Wednesday's loan deal, Armas was not lacking in interest, but it was ultimately decided that Hillsborough was the best place for the club and the player to achieve their loan goals. Pederson was the main driving force behind the decision. United loan manager Jonny Evans is one of the Old Trafford figures keeping a close eye on developments.
Abmas continued: "I talked to the coach a few times and I trusted him from the beginning. He showed a lot of enthusiasm and care for me, which was a big reason why I came here. This is a big club and I just want to come here to play football and really be a part of it." Partly. I want a challenge. There are people I keep in touch with, like the former coach, the loan manager, Jonny is the main one. I also keep in touch with a lot of the staff that I've worked with over the years."
