Taiwan Electric's factory (Kumamoto I) located in Kikumai Town, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan has been mass-produced by the end of 2024, and plans to build the second factory (Kumamoto II) in Kikumai Town, Kumamoto Prefecture. Taiwan Electric Power Director Liu Yangqing accepted an interview with Japanese media and said that the plan of Kumamoto's internal dynamics in the second factory has not changed and Japan's priority has not declined.
According to the joint communication report, Liu Liangqing was interviewed in Osaka City on the 21st and said that the plan for Kumamoto's internal work in the second factory in 2016 has not been changed. Taiwan Power is strengthening its investment in the United States, but Liu Liangqing pointed out that "the plan (from Kumamoto II Factory) has not changed. Japan's priority order will not decrease."In addition, Liu Liangqing revealed that the Taiwan Electric Board of Directors will be held in Kumamoto Prefecture around January to February next year (2026). The detailed production plan of Kumamoto Factory will be discussed at an estimated time.
Taiwan Electric Kumamoto Second Factory originally planned to be run in Q1 2025, and then it will be pushed to "2025". Taiwan Electric Chairman and President Wei Zhejia once said in June that the delay in the back-end operation was due to "traffic problems" such as car plugs.
