TA ace reporter Ornstein and Liverpool team reporter Pierce jointly reported that Liverpool is actively promoting the introduction of Crystal Palace defender Guy.
Liverpool have negotiated with Crystal Palace on signing Guy, but they have not yet made a formal offer to the England international and need to reach an agreement with the players. The 24-year-old defender hopes to be guaranteed for playing time in the World Cup year.
If Guy does not transfer this summer, he is expected to leave the team as a free agent after his contract expires next summer because he has no intention of renewing his contract with Crystal Palace.
Liverpool currently has only two healthy centre-backs, and Joe Gomez is on injury. Captain Van Dijk renewed his contract with the club this summer, but Connate's future is still uncertain, with only one year remaining on his contract.
