Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel said in an interview that Chelsea can rely on goalkeeper Robert Sanchez to win the Premier League championship and talked about the team's defensive issues.

How do you view the criticism of Sanchez from the outside world?

This is one point we can discuss about Robert Sanchez. When you play for these clubs, the pressure is very high, and every little thing you do is examined under a microscope. So, when you're a goalkeeper, like, people say Sanchez's skills are not that good, I don't think he's that bad, I don't think he's a bad goalkeeper.

Carragher believes that Chelsea cannot rely on Sanchez to win the league championship, do you agree?

A few days ago, Carragher asked me on the show, can Chelsea win the league with Sanchez? I said, "Yes, they can, of course," but they need to defend better. Their defense has been very, very bad. This makes him look like a bad goalkeeper.

What do you think is the specific problem of the team’s defensive problems?

You have to complement your teammates, you have to work as a team, so goalkeeper, defender fours, and the team's central axis must operate as a whole. If someone plays badly, others will suffer. This is the difference between winning the league and not winning the league.

When you win the league, this system is effective, plays one game after another, and has trust between each other. It's obvious that when you throw away those goals Chelsea has lost, that insecurity immediately develops. You can see on the field, they look at each other, without the feeling that everything should work automatically.
