Waltermad joined Newcastle from Stuttgart this summer with a club-record transfer fee of £69 million (EUR 80 million) and many have questioned the deal so expensive.
Waltermad accepts Newcastle NUFC TV said in an interview: "There is always pressure to play football. I also have pressure when playing football in Germany, but I like this pressure. The transfer fee is not set by me, and I can't do anything about it. I just want to focus on playing football. I can't decide how much the club pays. But I feel very happy that the club trusts me so much and is willing to pay such a high transfer fee. This club gives me a good feeling."
Waltermad made a subtle criticism about Bayern's failure to continue to advance the transaction before the transfer window is closed: "Newcastle told me: 'We will do our best to advance this transaction, and we want to go on the journey with you.' If a club wants me so much, I will also say: 'Okay, I'm willing to join 'Now I'm in England, Newcastle, and this is my new home. '
