In the first round of the Champions League stage, Liverpool beat Atletico Madrid 3-2. After the game, Liverpool defender Flynn Pon was interviewed on the official website.

Flynnon, congratulations. How can I describe this feeling in five consecutive games of stoppage time?

"This is part of football, sometimes you score goals in the last minute. I've experienced many wins in my career, and of course it was in the Leverkusen era. But the most important thing is that we won, I think we deserve this win, we are the better-performing side."

When winnings happen frequently, it's not just luck, right?

"Indeed. You never know when the goal will be scored in the game. Of course we all want to score earlier, but sometimes things go against our expectations. As I said, this is part of football, sometimes early and sometimes late, that's it."

The team started so perfectly, but was tied by the opponent later. Will everyone feel frustrated?

"Of course. When you lead 2-0, we certainly want to maintain the advantage and even expand the score. But this is the Champions League, and the opponent is Atletico Madrid. We could have done better to stop being tied, but this is football."

As the cooperation becomes more and more tacit, especially the core role of your friend Wirz, the team seems to be gradually getting on track. How great is his potential?

"He's just started. He and I have worked with Leverkusen for four years and know his abilities. I see him showing this and will bring more exciting performances in the future."

Personally and overall, how much room do you and the team have to improve?

"I think we are doing well at this stage and maintain a complete victory. Football is ultimately about winning. Of course we can play better, but if you play well but lose, no one will care about this. So football is about winning. If you want to win the trophy, you must win. Of course, you must also play well, but victory and goals are the fundamentals."

Finally, how satisfied are you with the start of the team's current ranking?

"This is exactly why I chose Liverpool. Liverpool is the ever-winning teacher, knowing how to win trophys, and this is exactly what I pursue."
