The Athletic reported that Chelsea coach Maresca confirmed in an interview that although Sterling and DiSassi failed to leave the team this summer, they will not return to the Chelsea squad.

Speaking of Sterling and DiSassi, Maresca said: "They are Chelsea players and have contracts with the club, but they are still training alone. I have never seen them since the beginning of the new season."

When asked whether the two are likely to return to the Chelsea lineup in the future, Maresca directly replied: "No."

Sterling's contract will be as high as 325,000 pounds per week by 2027. He was told earlier last season that he was not in the Maresca plan and then he was loaned to Arsenal. His most recent appearance for Chelsea was against Bournemouth last May. In this summer's transfer window, there have been inquiry from clubs from Italy, Germany and England, but he tends to stay in London.

Disassi's contract with Chelsea will be in 2029. He was loaned to Villa in the second half of last season. Disasi has been listed for sale or rent this summer, but has also failed to reach a deal. He wants to return to his old boss Monaco but failed to make a trip.

Chelsea "Bomb Squad" consists of Sterling, DiSassi and David Forfana. According to previous reports by The Sun, the three were completely excluded from the first team, and they were forced to use separate toilets, separate locker rooms, and eat separately from the first team members.
